CYMT is part of Guildhall School of Music & Drama and one of five national centres in the “Guildhall Young Artists" progression route, from primary education right through to graduate and postgraduate studies in music. It is a specialist Saturday music centre offering high quality musical training to students aged 5 to 18.

CYMT provides outstanding opportunities for students with a special interest in music from beginners to diploma standard. Children come together every week to play in a wide range of ensembles and choirs, led by professional tutors appointed by Guildhall School and CYMT.

This successful partnership also provides opportunities for students to work with visiting artists from the School, and access to support from a major UK conservatoire for those interested in studying the creative arts.

Testimonials

"CYMT is a fabulous resource for children who enjoy making music in the South West. It is definitely the “go to” place for anyone who is serious about music in our area and I can’t praise it enough!" - Parent/carer

"CYMT provides expert tuition, gives children the opportunity to mix with others who are like minded and allows them to make music in groups,  provides opportunities for children to perform in a safe and supportive atmosphere and later as children gain more confidence facilitates performance opportunities to a wider public. Its connection with the Guildhall and the regular input that it receives from past and present students from there provide our children with positive role models and open up our children’s horizons to see what can be achieved through music." - Parent/carer

"The staff team are warm, welcoming and massively enthusiastic, setting high expectations and instilling in children the discipline they need to become the best musicians they can. They impart musical knowledge and understanding of the highest calibre." - Parent/carer
