Standard Procedure in Concert

Standard Procedure, a dynamic jazz quartet from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, will be presenting two concerts in Taunton this weekend.

The band consists of current students and graduates of the Guildhall School: Sam Knight – sax, David Swan – piano, Ollie Copeland – bass, and Flyer Sydenham – drums.

Standard Procedure is a jazz quartet based in London with a focus on the ‘dark corners’ of jazz. From ferocious rock grooves to lyrical folk ballads, the aim is to convey emotion and encapsulate the tradition of jazz in a fresh, new way.  Influences are drawn from musicians and bands such as Ian Carr’s Nucleus, Miles Davis and Julian Siegel & Phil Robson’s Partisans as well as many more.

They will have a busy agenda with two concerts and workshops with young musicians.
