CYMT will be present at the Open Events at Richard Huish College on Sat 10 Nov and Mon 12 Nov.
You will have the chance to speak to CYMT staff who will be located in the Willow Cafe at the college. You will be able to learn about the term time courses offered by CYMT as well as the summer music course being planned for 2019.
CYMT offers a wide variety of musical activities for 5s – 18s on Saturday mornings in term time at Richard Huish College. On Saturday 1 December the Centre for Young Musicians Taunton will be visited by the London Panufnik Trio from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
During the morning the trio will join in CYMT piano workshops and orchestra & string group rehearsals, and they will give a piano trio workshop for all students of strings and piano.
At 12:00 – 12:45 the trio will give a concert in the Main Hall at Richard Huish College, music to include part of Brahms Piano Trio in C minor (free admission, all welcome).

ABOUT LONDON PANUFNIK TRIO
The London Panufnik Trio was formed in 2015 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. The group focuses on popularising the music of Central Europe, especially Poland. Currently, the band performs in London and prepares for competitions and festivals in Europe.
Konstancja Smolorz began learning to play the violin at the age of 7. In 2015, she graduated from the Secondary Secondary Music School of Karol Szymanowski in Katowice. As a soloist, she had the pleasure to perform with the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, with which she also recorded Faustowska Fantasy by Henryk Wieniawski as part of the ‘Europa u Bram’ project.
Edward Deakins began learning to play the cello at the age of 8. Thanks to the ‘D’Addario Strings Scholarship’ scholarship he had the opportunity to study at the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Edward was also a member of the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble, with which he appeared at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with members of the Aurora Orchestra.
Michael Lan began learning to play the piano at the age of 6 at the Hindhead Music Centre. He is a laureate of many British and international competitions, such as North London, Farnham, Godalming, Woking Music Festival, Steynor Prize for Musicians, Tilford Bach Society Award and North International Competition. Together with the pianist Stavros Dritsas he recorded piano duos which were broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
