Sarah-Jane Cross – Singing & Piano

hcym 2016 019 Sarah-Jane smallerSarah-Jane studied music with the Open University and has teaching diplomas from the ABRSM for both singing and piano. She has completed courses with “Vocal Process” and is a member of AOTOS (Association of Teachers Of Singing). She has been teaching piano and singing in schools and at home for many years and also runs choirs including a large community choir called Sing4Fun which is based in Minehead.

Recently Sarah-Jane graduated with the PGCert in Performance Teaching from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, which course she thoroughly enjoyed taking at the Guildhall School.

Sarah-Jane is a past member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and she continues to be found in the theatre regularly, both on and off stage.  She has directed large scale amateur productions of Les Miserables and West Side Story as well as pantomimes and plays.  Her last performing role was as the mad Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd in which she had to behave very badly, sing very high and end up covered in blood (fake of course!) which was great fun.

Sarah-Jane is thoroughly enjoying teaching singing and piano at the Centre for Young Musicians Taunton where she runs several singing ensembles for a variety of age-groups in addition to providing individual tuition in singing and piano.
